Senior women at the UK Ministry of Defence have described a hostile and toxic culture at the department, including allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and abuse by male colleagues.
The women outlined their experiences in a letter marked official-sensitive, detailing incidents of being spoken over during meetings, subject to pejorative language, and facing sexual harassment including intrusive staring and sexualized comments.
The accounts suggest an abusive and discriminatory workplace culture at the UK government's largest departments, with incidents occurring at both the MoD's headquarters and overseas bases. [ more ]
